Decorative concrete overlays are a type of flooring used to resurface an existing area. As the name suggests, this resurfacing finish is applied over an existing concrete surface. The new layer can update the look of the floors while keeping the strong structural base of the original concrete. In addition to refreshing the look of your concrete floors, this option is also very cost efficient — rather than demolishing or replacing, overlays effectively hide imperfections and strengthen the existing structure.
What is concrete overlay?
Concrete Overlays are polymer modified cements. They are much stronger than regular concrete and are used to resurface existing areas. Overlays can be customized for color, pattern or texture. Provided the existing concrete is properly cleaned, which we do with very high pressure washers or an acid wash, the overlay creates a chemical and mechanical bond with the substrate. Concrete overlays are great for any concrete surface such as garages, warehouses, basements, pool decks, patios, driveways and more.
